8th Pay Commission Fitment Factor
Fitment factor is a salary calculation system on the basis of which the salary is increased. According to various social media reports, the National Counseling Joint Consultative Machinery had asked for a fitment factor of at least 2.57 or more for the Eighth Pay Commission. If the Central Government also gives a fitment factor of 2.57, it means that there will be a salary increase of 157% in your current salary.

Previous Pay Commission History
- In the first pay commission, the minimum salary was fixed at Rs 55 and maximum at Rs 2000.
- The second pay commission, the minimum salary was increased to ₹ 80 and the maximum salary was increased to ₹ 3000.
- In the Third Pay Commission, the minimum salary was fixed at Rs 185 and the maximum salary was fixed at Rs 3000.
- The Fourth Pay Commission came into force in 1986 in which the minimum salary was increased to Rs 750 per month and the maximum salary was increased to Rs 8000 per month.
- In the Fifth Pay Commission, it was increased from Rs 750 to Rs 2550 while the maximum salary was kept permanent.
- Pay grades were introduced in the Sixth Pay Commission in which the minimum salary was made at Rs 7000 and the maximum salary was made at Rs 80000.
- In the Seventh Pay Commission, the minimum pay scale was revised to Rs 18000 per month and the maximum pay was increased to Rs 250000 per month.
